Colorful Lego Printing Art

June 1, 2017 By Erica Leggiero, M.S. Ed. Leave a Comment

Many kids love to paint and if you give them different tools to paint with, they usually love it even more! My own son loves painting with Lego. It combines two of his favorite things: colorful paint and Lego.

We recently painted with Lego to create colorful Lego printing art, and it turned out beautifully! Kids will love this idea for another fun way to play with Lego!

You only need a few things to make your own Lego Printing Art:

  • Kids Washable Paint
  • Paper
  • Lego Bricks

Using a variety of Lego bricks in different sizes adds a lot to the final product. Begin by dipping the brick in paint and either printing or smearing it down on the paper. My son loved experimenting with the top, bottom, and sides of each brick to see how it looked on paper.

These Lego prints would be great to do in a preschool classroom where the students could engage with the variety of shapes they see as they are printing, and counting the dots for math learning.

These Lego prints turned out so beautiful and unique. They would make great art work for a playroom, or you could even use it as a birthday card or wrapping paper for your Lego-loving friend!
