Here’s a quick and fun activity you can do with your child to celebrate Earth Day. And, seriously, who doesn’t love cookies?
Cooking in the kitchen with your little one is a great way to build conversational skills, teach math when measuring, and follow step-by-step instructions.

Earth Day Cookies:
Ingredients:
2 bowls
Sugar Cookie dough
We cut the dough directly in half and put each half in the bowl, added 10-12 drops of food coloring to each bowl, and mixed them until the dough was fully colored. You want to have 1 bowl of blue dough and 1 bowl of green dough.
Next, grab a pinch of green dough and a pinch of blue dough and roll the two together to form a ball.
Put on a baking sheet and bake according to the directions of your dough or mix
When our cookies were done, they were’t as bright as I had hoped. So make sure your dough is very, very dark so you can distinctly see the colors when the cookies are baked.
I hope you enjoy these cookies and how simple they are to make! Looking for other Earth Day activities? Check out our Pinterest board to get more inspiration.
