Johnny Appleseed Activities for Kids

September 17, 2015 By Erica Leggiero, M.S. Ed. 6 Comments

Johnny Appleseed was an American man who planted apple trees in many parts of the United States of America. Many people think that Johnny Appleseed is a storybook or fictional character, but he was a real person.

Kids love learning about Johnny Appleseed, and one of my own fond memories of being in school was celebrating Johnny Appleseed Day! We all wore shirts, pants, and pots on our heads as a hat. Which reminds me…I need to dig up that picture!

If you’re looking for some fun ways to celebrate Johnny Appleseed Day, then you’ve come to the right place! These Johnny Appleseed Activities for Kids are fun, educational, and great for incorporating into your homeschool or classroom curriculum. Johnny Appleseed Day is celebrated on September 26.

Great idea for a roundup. So many people study Johnny Appleseed. I love the idea of adding in a fun snack like the apple cupcake or apple cinnamon cake.

I have seen these floating around on the internet and had to leave a comment telling you how cute they are! And yes! Do show the picture of you wearing a pot on your head 😉 It sounds like you are enjoying your new class.
