The Ultimate Kids’ Cookbook (Review)

August 21, 2018 By Erica Leggiero, M.S. Ed. Leave a Comment

Does the idea of having the night off from cooking dinner sound good to you? What about if the kids cook? You must think I’ve lost my mind, but it can happen! The Ultimate Kids’ Cookbook is the perfect way to make this happen!

Inside this amazing cookbook, you will find full-color photographs, easy step-by-step instructions, and food that looks so tasty, you’re kids will practically be begging to cook!

Review of The Ultimate Kids’ Cookbook

The Ultimate Kids’ Cookbook contains beautiful full-color photos on every recipe page, which is a major reason we love this cookbook. The photos make the foods look appeasing to the children, and if you have a picky eater at home like me, it’s a win! As he was flipping through the recipes he would actually say, “That looks good!”

Alongside each gorgeous photo, there are easy-to-follow recipes that your child can feel confident preparing. My favorite part of the cookbook is that each recipe is broken down into 3 parts: what the child can do alone, what the parent should help with, and what can be done together.

Here’s a snippet of some of the delicious recipes you’ll find:

  • Breakfast: Orange-Blueberry Pancakes, Cherry Almond Scones, and Pear-Berry Muffins
  • Soups and Sammies: Cheesy Chicken Quesadillas, Confetti Veggie Soup, and Harvest Ham & Cheese
  • Dinners: School Night Chicken Fajitas, Grandma’s Classic Roast Chicken, and Not Just For Tuesday Tacos
  • Comfort Foods: Cozy Country Potato Pie
  • Italian: Parmesan Gnocchi
  • Make Your Own Restaurant Food: Teeny-Weeny Cheeseburger Sliders

Ultimate Kids' Cookbook

Perhaps my most favorite feature of The Ultimate Kids’ Cookbook is the Fearless Foodies section. This section teaches kids how to be more adventurous with their food choices and flavors. Mixing safe foods with a new flavor, or trying a whole new cooking method is some of the ways kids can be pushed out of their comfort zone. One of our favorite recipes from this section is Better Than Boxed Mac & Cheese and the challenge is to try cooking a favorite packaged food at home. What a great way to encourage children in their food adventures!

Ultimate Kids' Cookbook

In addition to all the amazing recipes and gorgeous photos, there are many helpful tips throughout the cookbook on how to plan your meal, safety tips, how to use kitchen utensils, how to use an oven, and so much more!

The Ultimate Kids’ Cookbook is for you if you’re tired of cooking, if you’re kids are interested in getting in the kitchen more, if you’ve fallen into a food rut, or if you just want a new activity to take up with your kids! Spending time in the kitchen with your kids is an amazing way to teach them and spend quality time with them.
