Happy, happy Thursday! We are continuing our celebration of Children’s Book Week! This holiday is a national literacy initiative to celebrate all of the wonderful books that have been written for young children!
Many of you already know about my love of reading, but in case you’re new here, guess what? I LOVE READING! 🙂 In fact, it’s what I got my M.Ed. in from University of Missouri (yes, Go Mizzou!)
Ok, so this week, I’m pumped because I get to share my favorite children books with all of you! Each day I’ll showcase a new book, give a quick synopsis of the book, and include a link so you can purchase the book if you don’t already have it.
There are so many AMAZING books out there, how can I seriously just pick 5? I’ll try my best!

A Color Of His Own by Leo Lionni
Today’s book recommendation is one of my all-time favorites:
A Color Of His Own By Leo Lionni
I recommend this book because it’s a story about being accepted, and learning to accept yourself. It stresses the importance of being an individual while staying true to who you are in a way that children can understand.
Oh, and it’s also great for teaching colors 😉
What other books did we recommend this week?
Monday: The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Thursday: A Color Of His Own
